Although lyrical is a combination of other dance forms, it's exact location of it's origins are hard to locate. However, lyrical's dance technique was originated from Russia in the first half of the 20th century. Lyrical's roots are traced to the Vaganova method of classical ballet. It was developed by Agrippina Vaganova.The Russians form of lyrical tend to focus on the flexibility and stregth of the back and the fluid movements of the arms.
Lyrical is a mixture of both ballet and jazz. However, it's slower and smoother than ballet, but not as fast as jazz. Lyrical is a dance style used to express emotions such as love, anger, hate etc. Their movements are trying to express the meaning of the music. The choreograph to this style of dance is usually emotional and dainty. This dance style tends to take up lots of space.

There is no right or wrong way to dance Lyrical because each dancer has it own unique way of dancing to the movements. The steps of move usually involve with leg lift and toe point.
Celine Dion is a french/canadian singer. She isn't a professional lyrical dancer but she did dance to lyrical during her "A New Day" tour.

Lyrical comes from Russia. The Russians dance to lyrical to strengthen the back and the fluidity in the arms. Lyrical dance started becoming a dance in the 1970's. Lyrical dance is a form of jazz that tells a story or just classic ballet.
Anyone could dance to Lyrical but dancers who perform on stage are usually adults that are ages 25-30. It is hard for teachers to teach children because they do not have as much experiences as adult or ballet dancers who are too old to dance ballet anymore. Ballet dancers train themselve with lyrical to gain more experience. Both male and female dance to Lyrical but the majority of these dancers are female.

Lyrical was influenced by many different styles of dance.An examples of its influences would be ballet, classical jazz and contemporary. Lyrical is conisedered a "cousin" to ballet and classical jazz this is because of its similarites and also because it is a fusion of the two dance forms.
Suzi Taylor, is a lyrical dance teacher that teachers on broadway in New York City. She is known as one of the early "mothers" of lyrical dance.
Evolution of Lyrical Dance
It wasn't popular in the mid 20's. Later in the 21st century, it started to become more popular and everyone was able to dance lyrical.
People in America uses Lyrical dance in festival , celebrate aspect or achievement to express their feelings. But it could be dance for anything.
