10 Must See Places in Boston

Vibrant, diverse, and historical are only a few words used to describe Boston. Recently named the best sports city in America, Boston has a lot to be proud of and is one of the most cultural cities on the East Coast. Whether you're visiting Boston on vacation or thinking about going there for college, here are 10 things you should do and see while in Boston.

1. Visit Boston's Public Garden:

The public garden is the oldest Botanical garden in the history of the United States. The park is

famous for its swan boats, which are available for rides during the warmer months. The Public garden has amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a leisurly walk.

2. The Prudential Center:

The Prudential Center is one of Boston's most prominant land marks and is great for shopping or dining. Even better, you can go to the Prudential Building's skywalk on the top floor and see the city like never before.

3. Faneuil Hall Market Place:

Faneuil Hall is one of the most famous and exciting places in Boston to shop. Faneuil Hall has over 100 shops and many push carts throughout the market place. There are constantly events taking place, such as summer concerts and the annual Holiday tree lighting ceremony.

4. Boston Common:

The Boston Common takes up nearly 50 acres and was once used as pasture land for the Puritan Settlers. The park is used for recreation where you will find many joggers and athletes on a daily basis. It is also a popular place for studying for the college students. Either way the common is a nice place to get away from the city, while being right in the middle of it.

5. Fenway Park:

Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red Sox and is the oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball history. From April to October, Fenway is filled with 37,000 plus fans every home game. Home to a deticated team and a passionate fan base, Fenway has an undescribable atmosphere that can't be matched anywhere else.

6. Newbury Street:

Newbury Street is one of the most enchanting streets in Boston. It has eight blocks filled with boutiques, salons, and excellent dining. There is something for everyone on Newbury Street and you can be sure you'll find one of kinds shops.

7. The North End:

The North End is often called Boston's "Little Italy." It's a small part of town that has the best Italian food in Boston. The North End is lined with restaurants, cafes, and shops. Cindy Fifield, a junior at MMU said going to the North End is something she loves to do when in Boston. She said the North End is unique to Boston and she likes all the Italian restaurants.

8. The Freedom Trail:

The Freedom Trail is one of the most historical experiences Boston offers. Take a tour of 16 historical sites from the Colonial Revolution. You can even take a tour of Paul Revere's house. It's an experience that can't be missed.

9. Kenmore Square:

Kenmore Square is bustling with marathon runners in April, Red Sox fans all summer, and has the Citgo sign, a staple of the Boston skyline. Kenmore Square is constantly busy, being the site of Boston University and Berkley college of Music. Kenmore Square has many enjoyable restaurants that are definitly worth checking out.

10. The Back Bay:

The Back Bay is home to the Prudential Building, Newbury Street and is lined with unique shops and trendy restaurants. It's not uncommon to see celebrities or Boston's athletes walking the streets in the Back Bay. The Trinity Church and Boston's Public Library are also in the bustling neighborhood.
