How To Treat Listeria Monocytogenes.

Patient #4 -Layla Parker

It can be treated with antibiotics. She is in a higher risk because she is pregnant. Pregnant women who experience fevers within 2 months of eating the food should go for a visit. And probably seek medical care, and let them know about the food they ate.

What do I think it is? And why?

What We Already Know

I think that it is Listeria Monocytogenes. All of her syptoms match up. It is a bacteria that causes an infection. It can be in raw foods, for example the hot dog. Both of her symptoms are listed under the side effects like muscle aches and fever.

Patient #4

Aimee is a 34 year old woman who is currently 7 weeks pregnant with her first child. Aimee is worried because although she stopped eating sliced deli meats and hot dogs 2 weeks ago when she found out she was expecting, she is currently experiencing fever and muscle aches.

She has the following vital signs:

• temperature: 102.1 ° F

• blood pressure: 130/90

• heart rate: 93 bpm
