Introduction

The model

The spiral model for software engineering is the present’s most realistic model for big scale software and systems development.

The spiral model is a risk oriented lifecycle model that divides a software project in smaller projects.

Whenever the hypothesis fails, the spiral ends.

One of its main advantages is that while costs go up, risks go down.

The only disadvantage that this model presents is that it requires a thorough management and solid knowledge.
