Aftermath
Background Information
- Emergency flood banks were built to keep the oil from spreading over the area.
- Some of the oil was absorbed into the ground and the rest burned for about 2 months.
- Did not stop burning until the oil stopped flowing by itself.
- Only real issue: Loss of jobs of people who worked at the oil field
- Started on March 2, 1992
