Perceptual Stage

Ethical Stage

If human want to tackle the current impasse, they have to enter the second life stage, The Ethical Stage.

Kierkegaard believe that human only can be a complete beings through this practice.

Ethical Stage are different with Perceptual Stage. In the Perceptual Stage, human beings are "self-centered" and human gain this from the outside world.

In this stage, Kier requests human to link up their own past, present and future.

But, in the Ethical Stage, the center and unity are different. Human get focused and unified in "Center of their own" and they get this in themselves.

Perceptual Stage

Ethical Stage

Conclusion

Kierkegaard think that Existence is a kind of process that repeated continuously. The main mission that human need to complete is to find the true value of themselves and chose to be themselves and be responsible for themselves.

The results is that the perceptual beings will feel DESPAIR.

Because human in this stage they have nothing could do to the past also they are not sure about future.

At this time, the perceptual beings will recognize that they cannot seek out themselves from the outside world. So, the perceptual being will find themselves from external ways to internal ways.

Ethical stage is not the end in human life.

For Kier, when human owns Moral,

it is easy foe human to have moral faults.

A person did not have a moral fault, does not means that he has higher moral standards than others

Religious Stage

Perceptual Stage

There are connection between Religious Stage and Ethical Stage.

The slightly different is that the unified personalities in Ethical Stage are based on the decisions. But, in the Religious Stage, it's not only based on the decisions, but also including the Will of the God.

The relationship between God and human is a kind of passion and immanence relationship. it doesn't mean human can find out the God in the outside world, it mean that human find the base of their own life.

The Three Stages Of

Life

---

Kierkegaard

In this stage, Kierkegaard think that human only try all the possibilities instead of making choices passionately

The living attitude in Perceptual stage is closed to Hedonism and there is nothing wrong to have fun.The lives of human who're perceptual beings are Broken lives and it is not consistent since the perceptual beings lose themselves in the present moment and they don't care about the past and the future.
