John Grisham was born in Alabama, but attended college at Mississippi State University and received his law degree at the University of Mississippi(Ole Miss).
As a child, he wanted to be a professional baseball player, but knew his dreams would not come true. As a result, he aspired to be a lawyer. He had a small office in Southaven, where he specialized in criminal defense and personal injury litigation.
