However ,the natural resources that use to be high in demand were being used all at once. This decreased the avalibility of these resources.
Rivers and canals began to become polluted by the gas and oil used in factories. Over 57,000 people in Great Britain died because of the disease Cholera caused by water pollution.
Acid rain also occured in the 1850's as an effect of the water pollution during the Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution led to a large increase in population, (57% by the mid 1700's) which meant the need for food, land, and energy grew.
Large amounts of resources were being used up quickly and the demand for these products increased drastically.
Toxic gases from the factories filled the air which increased pneumonic diseases and was very difficult to keep clean.
In 1873, over 1,150 deaths were caused by the severe air pollution.
In the 1700's the Industrial Revolution was the beginning of the use of machinery and factories.
Although it led to an increase in quaility products and produced new jobs for people, it also led to multiple issues in the environment that still impact us today.

Large areas of forest were cleared to created more space for factories and transportation (railroads). Also, the increase in population led to small villages and industrial cities being built.
This led to wildlife and the natural beauty of nature being forgotten and destroyed.
