  • The deltoids are a major movement in a serve, used to flex the shoulder.
  • These muscles are used to accelerate the arm which has begun to accelerate towards the ball.
  • The next muscle group that is used are triceps that is used to extend the elbow, accelerating the forearm and wrist.
  • The timing of movements at each joint determines the control of the hand and direction of which the force is applied to the ball.

SERVE

contact point angle comparison

The weakness in the serve is the stability when the ball is contacted. The force applied, when the ball was contacted at the highest point is what allows the serve to go over the net.

PRINCIPLES THAT RELATE TO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

center of gravity

Used to focus on increasing speed, strength, power to prevent minimal injury

  • LEVERAGE
  • BALANCE
  • MOMENTUM
  • INERIA
  • SPIN
  • FOCES & MOTION
  • PROJECTILE MOTION

BIOMECHANICS

The term biomechanics is defined as the science concerned with the internal and external forces acting on the human body and the effects produced by these forces

PROJECTILE FACTORS

  • SPIN
  • SWERVE

Same angle of contact point, the stance and positioning is the same also

PURPOSE

professional overarm serve

To critically analysis the selected technique, the overarm serve based on a biochemical perspective

modifications that can be done when next time correcting a serve

  • be aware of the lines on the court
  • keeping balance
  • not losing momentum

overall the serve analysised was correct but could use some correction

OVERARM VOLLEYBALL SERVE ANALYSIS

FORCE OF SUMMATION IS A KEY ELEMENT IN THE SPORT OF VOLLEYBALL, BALANCE AND STABILITY, BALL TOSS ARE THE COMPONENTS BEING ANALYSISED
