Competition Rules

  • Speeches can last anywhere between 3-5 minutes.
  • The bell will sound once 10 seconds before the time limit and twice at the 5 minute mark.
  • Speeches can be based on any topic from the three available.
  • Speeches must adhere to the topic chosen, topics are however, open to interpretation.
  • Each speaker will be judged based on a number of criteria such as the delivery, content, and quality of research to support their viewpoints.
  • Each speaker shall be given a score based on the mentioned criteria.
  • The three speakers with the highest scores shall be awarded at the end of the competition.
  • Any use of foul language will result in imminent disqualification.
