Taking care of ants in ant farms is generally easy. If you happen to have a gel ant farm, the gel provides the food for the ants. Other than feeding them, all you have to do is provide them with a few drops of water every day and they will be all set.

Most ant species will end up burying ants that have died. They tend to make a mini graveyard for all the dead ants, and cover them with the gel or whatever material they have on hand. When there are no more ants to farm, people normally just throw the dead ants away. They avoid throwing them away while the other ants are alive.

Ants are usually tied into the cost of the container too.
