On May 27 ,1898 Mr. Crosthwait was born in Nashville
Tennessee, but he grow up in Kansas City. David was an
African American mechanical and electrical engineer, inventor and writer. Mr Crosthwait created different types heating systems, refrigeration methods, boiler, thermostat control. One of the most accomplishments were the heating system in New York's Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. He later wrote an instruction manual for heating and cooling systems that explains codes that dealt with heating, air conditioning. After his retirement Crosthwait began to teach a course on steam heating theory and control systems at Purdue University. , and He died in February 1976.
