After The Industrial Revolution

Many workers desire reform and regarding working conditions. Workers join together into groups to make their problems heard in the form of labor unions.

People went on strike when they weren't treated right.

After The Industrial Revolution

The majority of workers lived in The Working Class. Worked 10-14 hours a day. Children as young as 6 worked in factories. Disease, such as cholera and typhoid was spread due to contaminated water supplies.

A whole family at work for the day.

Wealthy Home

HARSH LIFE: People relied almost solely on farming to make a living. Families remained small because of a high infant death rate. Only 25% of Europeans lived in towns or cities. Most lived in small country villages.

Village Life: Wealthy landowners controlled village land, renting to small farming families. Most lived in small smokey, poorly lighted cottages with dirt floors. All daily activities revolved around farming.
