THE RULES

Let’s divide the class into groups:

- 3 students (suspects)

- 2 students (police officers)

You will have 10 minutes

to think of an alibi.

Each group will have 10 minutes to:

- invent an alibi (suspects)

- think of questions to ask (police)

You have to cover the whole time

between 2 pm and 7 pm.

Yesterday someone was murdered, here at this school.

After that 2 suspects will leave the classroom

(+ 1 guard to watch them)

Each of you must be able to tell exactly the same story!

The police will interview each suspect

for 1 minute (making notes)

The police officers will report

if they find the suspects guilty or not.

(e.g. Adam said that you both had eaten chicken for dinner, but Mary said that she had had fish and chips. So you must be lying.

You're under arrest!)

You want to catch

the criminals.

Tips for...

To do that you have to interview

each of your 3 suspects.

THE POLICE

(2 students)

Ask them

exactly the same questions.

Tips for...

SUSPECTS

(3 students)

Make notes!

Imagine that you are the 3 young criminals.

Are their stories the same in each detail?

You want to prove that you’re innocent.

Try to catch them lying!

To do that you have to pretend

that you were together all the time.
