Maxine Greene

Born:December 23rd,1917

Greene was an American educational philosopher,author, and social activist

Accomplishments:

* In 2003 she founded the Maxine Greene

* She is the past president of The American Educational Research Association,Philosophy of Education Society, American Educational Studies Association,the Middle Atlantic States Philosophy of Education Society.

* She has been awarded many awards...some of them being:

The Medal of Honor

Educator of the year

AERA's lifetime achievement award

and many more

" In 2003, she founded the Maxine Greene Foundation for Social Imagination, the Arts, and Education. The foundation supports the creation and appreciation of works that embody fresh social visions. Its goal is "to generate inquiry, imagination and the creation of art works by diverse people." Grants of up to $10,000 are awarded to educators and artists."
