Redemptive Practices

Obstacles

MORE REDEMPTIVE PRACTICES

News Stations

Another redemptive practice that can help to more align the media with Christian values is to expand the use of social media by churches. Since social media is a very strong source of news, tweets that invite people to worship Christ and to attend church events and gatherings would be beneficial. People who are interested but that may not know God for themselves could follow, and by seeing these social media updates, these people could attend church events and develop a strong relationship with God. As Christians, are job is to spread the good news and since society has moved more towards online news, connecting to people online could help us to fulfill our missionary and evangelical efforts.

Christians could possibly face many obstacles in the media industry. They could receive backlash from people who don't agree with Christian beliefs, evident in the gay marriage argument and in the abortion argument. Also, they could receive persecution on social media networks for sharing their faith. The media is usually for a public audience, therefore a third obstacle a Christian could face in this industry is challenge to explain their beliefs and analyze them on the spot, with minimum time to construct or think about responses. A fourth obstacle that a Christian in the media could face is not being hired because of their religion. This is more apparent in foreign countries, where people of pagan beliefs tend to possess the most influential professions in the media.

Through human temptations and sin, channels of culture can become corrupt. In order to fix these issues that are prevalent, we can use redemptive practices. One redemptive practice that can strengthen the media is to create a popular, substantial, and credible major Christian TV power. Just as ABC, NBC, and CNN are media powerhouses, it would be great if a major Christian media source could have the same influences and could dominate in TV programming, professionalism, and intellectuality.

EVEN MORE REDEMPTIVE PRACTICES

Another practice that can redeem media is to create workshops perhaps at churches or community centers to strengthen evangelists presence in media in general. There could be different sessions that break down into for example, television media training, social media training, newspaper and article training, film training etc. Since we want to let people know that it is exciting to be apart of the Body of Christ, we should cooperate directly with the entertainment media to capture people's attention in ways that are particularly interested to them.

Public news stations can be viewed on television on mostly all TV services. Most of the American population watches the news everyday. (At least those who have a TV.)

News stations talk about daily events in the world like political, social, and economic issues.

Social Media Managers

Social media managers control the social media networks for certain local or notable people, businesses, or organizations. They are key in promoting and marketing for the individual or association and help to get the word out for events that may be coming up for the fan or consumer. Especially since Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook are now daily's for most people this is essential in 21st century marketing.

Newspapers

What is the Media?

Newspapers are a major source of information for the public. About 23% of the American population receives a newspaper of some sort.

Media is the main means of mass communication regarded collectively.

Examples of newspapers include the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and others.

Information is given to people through multiple sheets of paper. Writers and graphic designers are two professions that deal with newspaper media.

How does media serve for the common good of humanity?

Media keeps the people informed, and raises awareness for several local, regional, and global issues. Without this informatory, it would create a society ignorant of what is going on around them. Media also keeps people safe, and allows them to know things such as a crime committed in a specific area, so that the receiver of the information can avoid dangerous situations.

Examples of Media

Media can include many things that exist throughout our society. Examples include the newspaper, various news stations, social media, and radio shows.
