Drove Primary School

In drove primary school, as a

part of my work experience i was

assisting the P.E teacher. So i was required to help the teacher to deliver a P.E session. For this work i would need the ability to talk and engage with the children. Find different ways to explain so they find it easier to understand the objective of the sessions.

Drove primary school is located in the middle of the Swindon town centre.

It is a multi-cultural school educating children from over 40 countries.

The school is a part of large federation of school called the White House federation.

There are over 70 employes to work at the school.

Drove is the largest primary school in Swindon with around 650 pupils on roll.

My first day in this placement was pretty nerve racking, because i never been there, and didn't know any employees or students. On my placement days i had to report to Nadia who was the P.E coordinator of the school. My role at the school required me to do particular tasks,on the first day, its beneficial if i engage and make connections with the students. So its more comfortable for me and the students

to learn/teach.

Drove primary school follows their own

ambition 'the roots to grow and the wings to fly' this means that school wants their students to reach their full potential, and the wings to fly as a person, so the students know what they want from life.

The placement for me overall was really enjoyable, i loved how the students showed me a lot of kindness and respect, this then makes me want to teach them even more, because they are willing to learn from me. I would definitely recommend this placement to other students.

Drove Primary School

My project is to find out how and why many children joins the Drove primary school, due to the fact that they have the largest amount of students than any other primary school in Swindon. I could ask few questions to the students to know why they joined drove rather than other school. Why the school stands out more than others.

The things i would change about this placement would be, if each year group divided their P.E lessons at different time, because this means I could only teach 1 class in the year group and that would be me done for the day, since all the year group did it at the same time. For this reason it took me 1 month to finish the placement.

If the teachers gave me advice and tips on how to do the job more effectively then i wouldn't have had a hard time at the beginning of the placement.
