in the documentary they had real eye-witnesses, photographs, true stories to give the argument validity. in Chrstine's documentry theirs was clips of Jeffery himself speaking about his actions and why he did them, even with great details. there was also picture from the crime scenes, which was actually Jeffery's childhood, his grandmother's house, and the home he was staying in when he was arrested.
The film makers each wanted to understand what drives a person to become an cannibals & serial killer by going in Ed Geins and Jeffery Dahmer's relationships with their families, their sexuality, and the way they carried their self.

the attitude or viewpoint of the Ed Gein by Alex Flaster is very solemn and informational the tone of this film is very grim. The viewpoint of Jeffery Dahmer by Christine shuler was very neutral and factual. there was no if ans or buts about if Jeffery did the crimes ,it was more of the author telling what he did.
the expository mode. throughout the documentary the filmmaker uses a voice-over to explain the topic at hand. there are interviews used only in support of the argument. And there is a direct relationship between the images and voice-over.
the filmmaker uses very eerie music, horrific pictures from the crime scenes. also he includes dark colors to set the tone and structure of the film to achieve the films purpose
