We hope you enjoyed learning more about the rock cycle and the three different types of rocks!
:) (:
A metamorphic rock can change into a sedimentary or into an igneous rock. Mountains made from metamorphic rocks can be broken into pieces and washed away by the river or streams. New sediments from the mountains can change into a new sedimentary rock.
Sedimentary rock can change into a metamorphic or an igneous rock. On Earth's surface, wind and water can break rocks into small pieces. They can also carry rock pieces to another location. Usually, rock pieces that are called sediments, that drop from the wind or drop from water to make a layer. The layer can be buried under other layers of sediments. After a long time, the sediments can change into a sedimentary rock by the sediments being cemented together.
The rock cycle is a group of changes. There are three different types of rocks in the rock cycle. The three different types of rocks in the rock cycle are igneous rock, sedimentary rock, and metamorphic rock. The rock cycle never stops.
Igneous rock can change into sedimentary or metamorphic rock. Igneous rock forms when magma cools and make crystals. Igneous rock can form underground when the magmas cools slowly. It can also form over ground if magma cools quickly.
