FOREIGN INTERNMENT CENTERS IN BARCELONA

Saturday June 20th at 18pm the CIE interment center in Barcelona will close down.

They want to denounce the violation of rights and

provide minimal conditions of dignity to people who are illegally imprisoned.

PLOT

Tania, a young Russian woman who lives illegally in Belgium with her 13-year-old son Ivan. Constantly on her guard, she dreads police checks until the day she is arrested. Mother and son are separated and Tania is placed in a detention center. She will do anything to be reunited with her son but won't manage to avoid threats of deportation.

PERSONAL OPINION

To our mind, this film has shown us all the difficulties that are to emmigrate to another country. This woman prefers to be in a subhuman condition rather than being in her own country.

  • Olivier Masset-Depasse is a Belgian film director and screenwriter.
  • He has written two films and Illegal, one of them, received 8 nominations at the 1st Magritte Awards.
  • Tania: she is an illegal Belarussian living in Belguim. Tania is caught, but she tells Ivan to run. During the film she will have to fight for her liberty.
  • Aissa: She is a friend that Tania meet at the detention center.
  • Ivan: He is Tania's soon. He isn't caught but he is capable to do anything to help her mother.
  • Zina: Tania's Belorrussian friend.
