What's "social media"?

• Overuse of social media can affect the individual's behavior in regards to family structure (Okeffe, 2011)

• Teens tend to heavily rely on social media to distract from real life problems (Bonanno, 2015)

• Daily use of technology

• Care less about their personal relationships with their friends and family (Bonanno, 2015)

• Defined as websites and other online means of communication that are used by large groups of people to share information and to develop social and professional contacts (Niemer, 2012)

• Seen as an 'outlet' to the world (Taylor, 2013)

• ALSO has several negative impacts

• Created numerous amounts of downfalls concerning the way human beings are choosing to live their lives (Farrugia, 2014)

• Teens manage to become completely isolated from the world revolving around them (Niemer, 2012)
