What is it?

  • Individuals feel extreme suspicion and mistrust towards those around them
  • No real “evidence” or reason to be suspicious
  • Affects 2.3–4.4% of people

How does Paranoid Personality Disorder affect one's intimate relationships?

  • Suggested that Frontal and Parietal Lobes are affected

  • Experiment found that subjects with Schizotypal Personality Disorder had less grey matter in widespread temporal, frontal, and parietal regions of the brain than those in the control group

  • Areas where there was a deficit in grey matter could be linked to the negative symptoms that accompany Schizotypal Personality Disorder
