Video On The Peripheral Nervous System

What Is It?

Autonomic nervous system

Parasympathetic

The nervous system is a complex structure of neurons and nerves, which send signals around the body to coordinate movement. It is in effect to our body's electrical wiring.

Is what gets us alert. When we wake up at night thinking we heard a noise or something, our autonomic nervous system gets our heart pumping, and the butterflies flying. You get ready to run or attack.

The parasympathetic nervous system gives us the appropriate actions to do at a calm time. For example, you calm down after you eat so you can help your digestive system. Thanks to your parasympathetic nervous system, you know to do that.
