Preterite
The preterite tense and the imperfect tense are the two simple past tenses of the spanish language. They are both used to refer to actions that have been started or completed in the past.
Irregular verbs
-AR verbs
-ER/IR verbs
ending changes (ar form only) :
car to qué, gar to gué, zar to cé
Examples:
dormir, pedir,preferir,etc.
e -> ie -> i in the preterite.
o -> ue -> u in the preterite.
e -> i -> i in the preterite.
dormir would be changed to El durmió, or durmieron for instance
