Uses

  • The preterite, or "past" tense is used to refer to actions that occured at a fixed time or during a specific enclosed period of time in the past.
  • examples in english:
  • I did the homework last night.
  • Juan rode his bike to the store.
  • Unlike the preterite tense, the imperfect tense is used to refer to an action that occured over a period of time in the past, or was repeated a non specific number of times.
  • examples in english:
  • When i was younger I was very happy
  • I used to go to the park every day.
