Personal Narrative

The Freedom Writers taught me to be proud of who you are. No matter who you are, what your grade point average is, you can graduate. We all have it inside of us.All of the student went from really careless, to college students. It reminds me of myself, and I hope I end of the same as them.

Song

Erase Racism by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo

"The ink is black, the page is white

Together we learn how to read and write

People are black, got people that's white

Let's stop racism, and, let's unite."

I chose this song, because it shows how we aren't different, even if we're not the same race.

I chose this photo, because it represents diversity, and how they all united, and became a family despite their races.

Stay black-

Stay proud

Stay White-

Stay proud

Stay Brown-

Stay proud

Stay Yellow-

Stay Proud

Don't be afraid to be what you are,

'cause all you can be, is you!

You'll never ve anything else but you,

So be te best you, you can be.

Keep it real-

by all means

at all times

Wether a lawyer, a doctor, a football player, a toilet cleaner, a garbage handler, a panhandler-

keep it real.

and still

be the best you can be.

Have pride, have dignity, stand!

Stand proud, talk proud, act proud, be proud.

Don't lay down,

back down,

bow down,

run away,

sell out yourself,

sell into criticism.

Be real and realize that the ones who criticize, best recognize that you are you-

take it or leave it.

"MM HMM!"

I knew you'd get it.

Get what?

The stuff-

the stuff called pride, that attitude, that aura, your identity, your self, your pride, peace of mind, worry free.

See, I can't be you, but I'm a damn good ME!

Righteous.

I chose this poem, because it's actually from the book. And it explains the whole book perfectly, that no matter what your race, or job, or who you are, unite.

Three Themes

1. That you can persevere through anything as long as you believe you can.

2. The key to success is to overcome the normal thing to do.

3. It's not a bad thing to break tradition
