Timeline of David's life

Early 1960

David is apart of a really happy family. Refers himself as a part of the Brady Bunch' family He is a very happy boy out of 3 sons of Catherine and Stephen Pelzer. They would go on vacations to the Russian River as a big happy family about 6 years later everything changed for David.

1969

David and his mother never got along. She targeted him for everything. She had burned his rm on the gas stove the summer before grade 2, after this David's only escape was school.

Fourth Grade in the fall

David has a crush on his new teacher and it makes him forget everything bad that has happened to him throughout his life. When he gets beaten he thinks of her and makes him not hurt as much.

Summer before grade 3

David and his 'family' goes to Russian River for a vacation. David is not allowed to play with his brothers and get punished when the rest of the family is out and has to eat his baby brothers poo from the diaper as his mother shoves it in his face.

Mother apologized for everything that had happened throughout the years and told David to ignore and forget about it all. For two days David felt he was apart of the family again. He would eat dinner and play with his brothers and be happy again. But once the social worker was there David was asked questions if he was ever abused and David said yes. His mother turned back into what she had always been and started abusing his again for his wrong answer.

End of October

Christmas of grade four

David received a pair of skates, he thought this was strange because he didn't think he deserved anything. He was made to go outside and skate for hours at a time without a coat so it was another one of mothers games

September of grade 3

David wouldn't be allowed to drive in the car with his family on the way to school because he wasn't apart of their family. He had to walk alone when he was only 7 to school.

David isn't allowed to carve pumpkins with his brothers during Halloween time and hasn't been able since he was 7 or 8.

Throughout these years David started to be abused as an outcast, he was made to clean, do plenty of chores and of course was beaten brutally. He was 6 years old and in grade one at this time.

Summer of 1971

This summer made David realize what he thought he was truly worth 'nothing' He knew that this was the summer that would make him and mother hate each other more than they ever have. David was only 10 years old.

1973

March 5 1973, Daly City California David is doing his everyday chores for his mother who terrifies David a lot. This is during second grade and Catherine is pregnant with her fourth child. Throughout this time the beatings got brutally worse.

March of grade 4

David's father Stephen, moved out and left his family. Shortly after this David was rescued by a few of his teachers and principles of his school. He was taken away and never had to live with mother and her games again. He interviewed his mother many years later and asked her very descriptive and personal questions about his life with her. He said he forgave her but will never forget her.

David now has his own son named Stephen, of his father's name. He is so proud to have his own baby boy, and know that he will treat him as best as he could ever treat anyone. For he is the son who has changed his life and to really make David know that he is 'free'.

End of March Mother went into labor again. She was away for a while and David enjoyed this time because father let him play with his brothers and was able to eat food at the dinner table. He isn't allowed to eat food when he's with his 'family' when his mother is home so David would starve for about 10 days straight with no food and was very weak.

While mother was in labor

While mother was away, the boys got to play at their neighbors house and her name was Shirley. She treated them like her own kids. When Mother came home, David had a new baby brother named Kevin. He loved Kevin and felt very close with him as her grew up.
