like Gmail sends emails to people

Neurotransmitters are chemicals held inside vesicles kind of like the liquid held inside of pills

Sympathetic NS = Sibling

The Sympathetic NS is like a sibling because

siblings get you really worked up, and gets

your heart rate going

Reticular Function = Bell/Alarm

The Reticular Function controls your arousal

and alertness, kind of like a bell or alarm

going off would make you alert and aroused

Pituitary Gland = CEO

Dendrites = Mailbox

Dendrites are like a mailbox. Dendrite receive

the neurotransmitters kind of like a mailbox

would receive mail delivered to a

specific address.

Spinal Cord = Road

The pituitary gland regulates growth and development, as well as telling each gland what to do. A CEO of a company tells the employees what to do, and tries to help the company become more developed and grow.

Pons = A Secretary

The spinal cord is kind of like a road or street because there are tons of messages being sent to and from the brain back and forth, kind of like how cars are going from one destination to another traveling on roads.

The Pons connect parts of the brain, and also

send messages to and from each hemisphere,

kind of like someone’s secretary sends messages

back and forth to higher status people.

Adrenaline is a hormone that gives us energy in times of emergency, kind of like how Red Bull or 5 Hour Energy gives us energy when we need it.

Parasympathetic = A parent

The Parasympathetic is like a parent

because our parents calm us down

after our siblings make us mad

Hormones = Simulation Serums from Divergent

Right Hemisphere = Designing a House

The Right Hemisphere is like the

painting/interior design to a house,

and all the creative stuff

Hormones are a substance sent to cells to do something specific. The simulation Serums from Divergent are kind of like hormones, because the simulations (hormones) are given to the people (cells) and controls what they do, and each simulation (hormone) does something different.

Glands = ATM

The glands are kind of like an ATM, they give out

hormones, kind of like an ATM gives out money.

They are always there when we need them.

Hippocampus = Photo Album

The Hippocampus stores memories in our

brain, kind of like a photo album stores

out memories through pictures.

Myelin Sheath: (Rubber Wire Covering)

Central NS = Coach

The Myelin Sheath is an outer layer that protects the Axon, and acts as an insulator, kind of like wires are layered with rubber as an insulator.

Medulla = Pace Maker/

Breathing Machine

The Central NS is the main NS that controls what all the other NS systems do, kind of like how a coach would coach a team.

The Medulla controls our constant

heart rate and breathing, kind of

like a pacemaker or a breathing

machine in a hospital.

Motor Strip = Puppet Strings

The Motor Strip controls the movements of our muscles kind of like strings on a puppet control how the puppet moves.

Vesicles are small bubble-like structures that hold in the neurotransmitters, kind of like the outer

covering of a liquid pill

Left Hemisphere = Building a House

Occipital Lobe = Eyes

The left hemisphere is kind of like

the architecture and formulas that

go into building a house

The occipital lobe are kind of like our

eyes, because they take in all the visual

things around us

Autonomic NS = Cruise Control

Hypothalamus = Zookeeper

The hypothalamus controls mostly thirst,

hunger, and temperature. So it is kind of

like a zookeeper making sure all the animals

get the right amount of food and liquids,

and keeping them at a healthy temperature.

Axons: (Bank tubes)

The Autonomic NS control basic automatic functions, such as heartbeat, digestion, pupil dilating, etc. kind of like how cruise control on a car controls speed automatically.

The Axon carries electrical impulses through the neuron, which is kind of like those tubes at the bank that sends your money back and forth.

Neurotransmitters are like electric

currents because they go from one

place to another and send the electric
