The NBA is made up of many amazing players. Steph Curry broke the NBA record for most threes in a season at 402. He also broke the record for most threes in a game at 13. In the 2016-2017 season (current season) Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple-double. That is when a player averages 10 or more points, 10 or more rebounds, and ten or more assists in a single game. You can also get a triple-double if you get 10 or more steals and 10 or more blocks a game. Stephen Curry also won back-to-back MVP's, one of them being unanimous. Unanimous means every person that voted for an MVP voted for Stephen Curry. Lebron James and Kyrie Irving led the Clevland Cavaliers to the last NBA championship. Those are some of the amazing players of the NBA.
Rules
Basketball is a game that has many rules but it still very fun. If basketball didn't have any rules it would be too much of a freely played game. Some of the rules of the game are traveling, reach-in-fouls, double dribbling, and out of bounds. A single player is not able to take more than two steps while holding the ball. Next, a player can not make too much contact with the player that has the ball and is dribbling. A player can also not pick up the ball and start bouncing it again when they have already dribbled before they picked it up. Lastly, you can not touch the ball last when ball goes out of bounds. If so, the other team then gets possession of the ball. Those are the most important rules in the game of basketball.
History
The NBA had many great players before the present day players. Some of them include Oscar Robinson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdoul Jabar, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. Basketball started in 1841. Wilt Chamberlain set a record for most points in a game with 100 on March 2, 1962. That was when the NBA didn't invent the 3-point line. In 1961, there were 9 NBA teams. The league has grown so much since then that there is now 30 NBA teams. The Golden Stae Warriors in the 2015-2016 season broke the record for most games won in a season at 73. James Naismith was the creator of basketball. The oldest basketball was made from leather stitched together with a rubber ballder inside. The oldest basketball hoop was a peach basketball.
