Why does this Matter?
Some Philippines citizens are extremely poor, so they sell drugs as a living. I think killing criminals isn't the best way to handle situations. Honestly, sending them to jail would be a better way to deal with this situation, rather than killing them purposely, but again, if they endanger our lives, then we have to get rid of them ASAP.
Overall, I honestly don't know if I support Rodrigo Duterte or not. He's doing some crazy things, but again, he's just trying to make Philippines a better, safer place by killing and detaining drug dealers and users.
It matters because before Duterte became the president, everything was corrupt. For example, the government was very greedy, and they accepted many bribes. They kept the money for themselves, and they won't use it in a good way, like building a new hospital.
Philippines is a very poor country, so there are many criminals that would steal things from stores, kidnap children, etc. Rodrigo Duterte is against this corruption, and he would like to stop all of it. Many people supports Duterte, and believes that he will make Philippines a better country. He is currently doing so by eliminating all drug dealers and users.

How does this affect other Countries?
The US criticized the Philippines for their drug killing policy. As said before, Duterte said some nasty comments to Obama. Therefore, the Philippines and the US has ended their relationship. China supports the drug war, so China and the Philippines teamed up.
Some Filipinos agree on having the drug war, while others don't. Some think that Philippines would be much safer after many drug dealers are arrested or killed. Some Filipinos who knew victims that were killed because of the drug war majorly disagree about killing drug dealers. Once, a woman's husband was killed because of the drug war. The victim's wife said that his husband was innocent.

Rodrigo Duterte assured to get rid of all illegal drugs in the Philippines within 6 months. He also said that he'd dump drug dealer's bodies into Manila Bay, so the fish would become fat.
During his time as president, he said some nasty comments. For example, he told Obama to "go to hell".
The Philippines President, Rodrigo Duterte is apparently in a drug war. He is urging citizens of Philippines, or just anyone with a weapon to kill drug dealers and users.
"Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun - you have my support. You can kill him, shoot him and I'll give you a medal," - Duterte
I honestly think he's crazy because he actually wants regular, normal people to help KILL drug dealers and users.
"Hitler massacred three million Jews. There is three million drug addicts, there are. I'd be happy to slaughter them".
In Rodrigo Duterte's first 100 days as president, there were at least 3600 kills. The number of kills are constantly rising. About 700 000 people surrendered. Jails and rehabilitation centres are crowded.
Sadly, children and innocent people were killed during drug raids.
