  • Collaborative, new approach to addressing the needs of people living on the streets of Austin

WHO

  • Front-line Team - Austin Police Department, Austin/Travis County Integral Care, Austin/Travis County EMS, Downtown Austin Alliance, City of Austin Innovation Office

  • Service Providers - Austin Resource Center for the Homeless/Front Steps, Salvation Army, Caritas of Austin, Trinity Center, Downtown Austin Community Court, ECHO, and others

HOW:

A team actively working the streets/working with people in need by:

  • Building trust
  • Provide triage
  • Motivate clients
  • Connect to services

Housing

WHY:

  • Improved health and safety
  • More than just law enforcement or EMS response
  • Prevent crisis or crime
  • Empower people
  • Initiate/facilitate pathway to stability and housing
