Best Practices:
- Only add people who tweet relevant tweets
- I need to see 5 relevant tweets before I add someone
- Create lists to categorize your tweets
- If I cannot add a person to a list - I do not follow
Within a Tweet there are three live components:
- # - Hashtags or Tags - allow to search for the word after the #
- In this example I clicked on #adpcenter - each tweet in this window contains it
- @ - indicates a twitter address - allows you to direct a tweet to somebody
- Link - A clickable link to a website or article
From drop-down arrow you can Add or remove the person from lists.
Select as many lists as apply
When you hover over a Tweet you see options to:
- Reply - send a response to the original Tweeter
- Retweet - This will send the same tweet to everyone that follows you
- Why Retweet - Instead of clicking on a link and claiming is as your own find - it gives credit - and tells your followers that they might want to follow this person
In 5 minutes I received 20 new tweets
How do I make sense of all of this information
Lists:
- You can have up to 20
- Allow you to organize who you follow
- People can be a part of multiple lists
