ADVANTAGES OR DISADVANTAGES?
This is one of the the things that doesn't have advantages or disadvantages. Because its not a phenomena or an energy carrier.
But you can try to go faster than the speed of sound.
DISCOVERY
- The first sonic boom created was in ancient times - the crack of a whip is actually a very tiny sonic boom.
- But the term didn't come into common use until supersonic aircraft became common. In 1964, NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration began sonic boom tests over 6 months. Chuck Yeager was the first person to achieve supersonic flight in 1947.

TYPE OF WAVE
By: Bryan Madrigal
- A Sonic Boom is a sound wave, which means its a longitudinal wave.
- A Sonic Boom is a sound wave, which means its a longitudinal wave.
- The wavelength and frequency depend on the medium, as well as the momentum when the medium has passed the speed of sound.
DESCRIPTION
- A sonic boom is the sound associated with the shock waves created by an object traveling through the air faster than the speed of sound.
- Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding much like an explosion. Or when a jet plane travels faster than the speed of light.
INTERACTION WITH MATTER
- Sonic booms interact with matter differently to each other. For example water would just shake and rumble, as for a glass window, it would break. This means, it’s does diffraction and absorption.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
It is important because its one of the things that you can't easily do. It takes a fast object or vehicle to do so.
MISCONCEPTIONS
There is really no misconceptions since its something that doesn't bother most people.
