How easy is it to refuel?

What criteria will you use when you evaluate cars of the future? What things will be important to you when you need to buy a car?

-Speed -Standard/Stick

-Fuel efficiency - All season tires

-Increased safety -Gismos/gadgets

Bi-products of emissions

CNG is a lot less $ then gasoline...........But there is also a lot less fueling stations then there are gas stations. So its harder to get refueled then gas. When it comes to bio diesel it is very easy to refuel because it is available nationwide. It can be purchased directly from bio diesel producers and marketers.

This means that it's something produced in the process of making something else. To create bio diesel it has to go through a process called transesterification. This is a process of exchanging the alcohol group. During the transfer glycerin is separated from the fat or vegetable oil the process leaves behind 2 products methyl esters and glycerin. Methyl esters are a type of fatty acid, as for glycerin it is a valuable byproduct usually sold to be used in soaps, lotions and other products.

Compressed Natural Gas &

Bio Diesel

The biproducts of emission for CNG are carbon dioxide and water vapor. They are harmless when mixed together.

How well does it perform using the fuel

Financial Costs

The financial cost for bio diesel would be that the people making the vegetables would have to buy more land to grow the vegetables so we would have enough to use for bio diesel fuel AND cooking.

In CNG the main ingredient is methane. CNG is mostly made of methane. Methane is a gas so it is hard to ship. And Methane is very hard to find. so to make more CNG we would probably have to hire more workers to help find it and ship it from different places.

CNG compared to gasoline there isn't much difference when it comes to performance. If your parents have a car that runs on gasoline that's how it feels to ride in a CNG car. Bio diesel is a very good fuel to use, it is better for the environment because it's made from renewable resources and lower emissions.

Environmental Costs

Social Costs

Compressed Natural gas is non-toxic, and it has no threat to land or water. It has less fossil fuel and carbon dioxide. It can run cars, trucks, planes, and burns cleaner than diesel and gasoline. The downside is that this fuel is flammable.

As for bio diesel fuel the environmental cost is our vegetables that we eat. Since bio diesel is made out of vegetable oil you would need to grow more vegetables.

The social cost for bio diesel would be that the prices for vegetable oil would go up because it's used for multiple things which means we'd have to have more fields of vegetables. A lot of people wouldn't want to change to CNG. CNG engines costs thousands of dollars to put in cars.

Which alternative do you think is more likely to be accepted?

We think that bio diesel would be more excepted because they're are more bio diesel fueling stations, even though compressed natural gas is better for the environment.
