Conductive Hearing

Conductive hearing occurs when sound isn't conducted officiently through the outer ear canal to the ear drum and the tiny bones of the middle ear. This type of hearing loss usually involves a reduction in faint sounds, but this type of hearing loss can be corrected medically or surgically.

Sensorineural

Audiogram~ A graph that shows the softest sounds a person can hear at different pitches of frequencies.

Sensoruneural hearing loss occurs there's damage to the inner ear or to the nerve pathways from the inner ear to the brain. Sensorineural hearing loss can't be medically or surgically corrected. This is the most common type of permanent hearing loss.

There are three different types of hearing loss, the names of the types are conductive, sensorineural, and mixed.

Conductive Causes~ Fluid in the middle ear from colds.

Ear infection.

Sensorineural Causes~ Drugs that are toxic to hearing.

Genetics.

Aging.

Common Hazards for your hearing

Hereditary~ Passing or capable of passing, naturally from parent to offspring through the genes.

Children that are born into deaf families could have the specific gene for deafness or they could carry the gene.

This type of hearing loss is a combination of the other two types of hearing losses. The damage from this is in the outer ear or middle ear and inner ear or in the auditory nerve.

~Excessive noise at work: Noise levels shouldn't exceed 85dB. If higher, try to reduce noise or wear ear protection.
