He should be remembered for how much power he brange to the ottoman empire because when he died the ottoman empire was one of the world's foremost powers. Suleiman's conquests had also brought under the control of the Empire of the major Muslim cities (Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Cairo, and Baghdad). His expansion into Europe had given the Ottoman Turks a powerful presence in the European balance of power. He also showed that he was a muslim ruler which made him well known to muslims there was an inscription in which he shows his muslim " I am gods slave and Sultan of this world. By the grace of god i am head of Mohammed's (saw) community. Gods might and Mohammed's (saw) miracles are my companion". Q1. Who did he get married to?

A1. Suleiman's wife, Roxana, was the daughter of a Russian Christian priest. She had been captured as a slave to join the harem in the palace, but Suleiman fell in love with her and, breaking hundreds of years of tradition, made her his legal wife. He also had 3 more wifes

3. What qualities did Suleiman have to make him a leader?

Suleiman almost always led his armies in person, rather than delegate the task to a senior general or the Grand Vizier. Which meant people wont be fighting about the strategy for an attack. Suleiman made sure that his troops always had the latest fire arms so they could have an advantage of

war.

A2. The Ottoman Empire became the largest empire of the rime and he was looked up by the king because of the places he conquered and by his courage.

5. What challenges did Suleiman face during his reign?

Q3. How did the Ottoman empire try keeping there territory while new teritory was added?

  • Hungary
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Libya
  • Bosnia
  • Croatia
  • Romania

A3. When a new territory was added, Ottoman officials tried to preserve as many of the local laws as possible, as long as these did not contradict the religious law or general legal principles of the empire.

Upon succeeding his father, Suleiman began a series of military conquests, eventually suppressing a revolt led by the Ottoman-appointed governor of Damascus in 1521. Suleiman soon made preparations for the conquest of Belgrade from the Kingdom of Hungary—something his great-grandfather Mehmed II had failed to achieve. He defeated the other Muslim country therefore making him the leader of the islamic world.
