The science of sociology helps us understand equality of opportunity in sport and society in general
Sociology can be viewed as having two main concerns:
1. examining interactions and indedendence
2. examining how human behaviours become controlled.
The sociology of sport is an applied sub-discipline of sociology which considers the relationship between sport and society.
