Recommend tools but let the natives discover their own tools to facilitate their own learning

Study on whether to allow students to discover tools that utilise technologies they are more likely to adopt in their own development rather than enforce them to adopt archaic tools that the teacher prefers yet would not reflect their own instincts outside the classroom due to the potentially antiquated techniques they encourage and therefore detrimental approach to study and their education within the classroom and the real world.
