After the CSB investigation they found that NDK had ignored many warnings and recommendations from numerous consultants and safety officials. In January 2007 NDK ignored warnings from a third-party insurance carrier after a leak of hot caustic material.in the end their carelessness cost them a fine from OSHA of $510,000, they also had to pay for damages, but the highest toll was that for the fatality which cannot be calculated.
