THANKS FOR WATCHING :)

By Rohan

Planet/Environment

Goods and Services

This segment consists of Resource Consumption, (the amount of resources used in goods and services), Waste Management, (how companies deal with the waste that is produced), and their use of land

Profit/Economic

Operates using environmentally friendly practices

People/Social

Example:

Goods are objects that people desire that you can touch/hold. For example: Food, clothing, jewelery, etc.

Services are actions that are carried out by someone for someone else. For example: Haircut, teaching, car repair, etc.

Woolworth shows their commitment to the environment by substituting plastic bags with "green bags".

This segment consists of Charitable Contributions, Employee Welfare, (how employees are treated and the quality of their work environment), Fair Trade, (deals that are completed with fair exchange)

This segment consists of economic growth, (increase in the value/price of the goods and services produced by an economy), Revenue, (entire amount of income before any alterations are made),

Gives back to the community

Example:

McDonalds gives back to the community through their Ronald McDonald House charity. This provides seriously ill children with facilities and support that helps these kids to live a brighter, happier and healthier’ life.

Triple Bottom Line

Sponsors and helps with community projects

Example:

What does being CSR mean?

AGL, (Australia's energy company), controls the "energy for life" community investment program. The program involves paying the winter energy bills for homeless shelters in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

The Triple Bottom line idea consists of the three Ps, People/social, Profit/economic, and Planet/environment. It defines a sustainable business, a business that is CSR.

Being Ethical

Being CSR means that a company:

-Sponsors and helps with community projects (AGL)

-Operates using environmentally friendly practices (Woolworth)

-Gives back to the community (McDonalds)

-Makes ethical decisions that agree with their code of conduct

By being ethical, I mean doing things while thinking about the social, environmental, and economic impacts that might occur.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Code of Conduct

Is CSR Necessary?

In my opinion, CSR is necessary, as it is a way for companies to benefit themselves while while benefiting society at large. All the aspects that follow CSR and the triple bottom line are a necessity if you're trying to create a sustainable business.

A code of conduct is a set of rules that apply to the group that the code of conduct was created for.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?
