Las primeras colecciones en el Museo fueron la real artes. El Museo del Prado está en el centro del "Paseo del Arte" en Madrid. Está en una ubicación central alrededor de los árboles y el arte. Es conocido en todo el mundo. La estructura final se añadió en el año 2007 que es un edificio subterráneo. La colección de museos incluye 1.300 pinturas que son los mejores en la cultura española. The first floor has a collection of sculptures and paintings. El segundo piso cuenta con pinturas de Mengs, Watteau, Tiepolo, y Goya. El Museo cuenta con pinturas como "Mujer con barba" por Ribera y "La tercera de mayo" de Goya. El Museo del Prado es el museo más visitado de España.

The Prado Museum was established in 1819. It's original purpose was to house the Natural History Cabinet, by the orders of King Charles III. However his grandson, King Ferdinand VII, established it as the New Royal Museum of Paintings and Sculptures. It was then opened to the public in November 1819.
The Prado museum has always been Madrid's top cultural sight and it holds numerous amounts of unique masterpeices created throughout history. It displays the art of Velázquez, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, and Bosch, which are mainly Italian and Flemish artists. Its name derives from the district where it is located, formerly an area of market gardens known as the "prado" or meadow. The mueseum is viewed by many as the centerpiece of the artistic world in mordern time.
