What is Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a team game, originally played by North American Indians, in which the ball is thrown, caught, scored, among other aspects of the game, with the help of a stick with netting at one end.

How Is Lacrosse a Piece of the Early Native American Culture

Lacrosse has been, and is still, a part of the Native American culture. To the Native Americans, lacrosse was a game of war. It was used to settle conflicts between opposing tribes. I wasn't uncommon for one to die during a game.

Lacrosse is also a part of the religion of some Native American. Traditionally, you would be buried with your stick. It was a similar concept to the Egyptians, for use in the after life.

Lacrosse Today

Today, lacrosse is a sport played across the world, but more specifically in America. It had evolved into a sport much more acceptable on modern terms. Even with changes in the rules of the game, many Native Americans still play today.
