There were many parts of the book I enjoyed this was my favorite part.

"A wizard, o' course," said Hagrid, sitting back down on the sofa, whichgroaned and sank even lower, "an' a thumpin' good'un, I'd say, onceyeh've been trained up a bit. With a mum an' dad like yours, what elsewould yeh be? An' I reckon it's abou' time yeh read yer letter."

This was my favorite part because I had just learned that Harry isn't going to be with his terrible uncle and aunt that make him feel like a nobody. I also liked it because now Harry is starting to meet new people and this book is starting to become more interesting because of the action and drama that was coming in. Lastly, I like it because Harry just started learning new things about himself so now the reader can figure out how some of the weird things happened to Harry. This is why this was my favorite paragraph

Character Development

Throughout the book Harry has learned a lot about himself, learned new tricks, and more about his parents. He has developed tremendously. One big example is how when Harry first was about to go to Hogwarts he had no idea how magic worked, but when he came out of school he was one of the best wizards at that school. He even defeated Voldemort, one of the most powerful supervillains. Another way Harry developed is on his knowledge on his parents. At the beginning Harry had no clue they were one of the best wizards at Hogwarts. Harry didn't even know that his parents had left him a lot of money at the Gringotts Wizarding Bank. This shows how much Harry has developed from when he was clueless about how special he was.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has been one of the best books I've read. I would recommend this book this to anyone because of many characteristics of the book. Here are the characteristics that were great about the book.

  • The authors writing style is awesome because it has a lot of different vocab words and many things that go on at the same time
  • Character development was great too because Harry went from nothing barely anything about him to learning aspects of his life that amaze him
  • The setting is also great in this book because of how descriptive it is. It's like the reader gets a picture in her or her mind
  • Descriptions are what sometimes make a book great and this book has a lot of them. The descriptions are so great that you can get a picture in your mind
  • The themes in this book is also great because not only do the apply in the book, but also in real life
  • Even though the reader knows this book is a fantasy book, it is so well descriptive that it makes it believable. It has explanations for why the humans can't see some of the magical things that happen. A book this well written is very rare

These are the reasons on why I would recommend this book to someone.

In the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, J.K. Rowling shows the battle of good and evil.

The main character, Harry Potter, lives with his his aunt and uncle who have a strong disregard for him and treat him harshly. On Harry's eleventh birthday, things start to change. He finds out that he's a wizard and that he's been accepted to Hogwarts. After school starts he befriends a young wizard named Ron Weasley and a talented girl named Hermione Granger. As the year goes on the trio find a three headed dog in Hogwarts. Harry finds out that that the dog is protecting the Sorcerer's Stone which could be used to make Elixr of Life which increase the life of the person who drinks it. Harry comes to a theory that Snape, one of his professors, is after the stone. He then comes up with a plan to go find the stone. After somehow overcoming each each of the professors' locks Harry makes it to the room to find that Professor Quirrell is there with Voldemort, that has been trying to kill Harry for many years living off Quirrell's head as a parasite. As Quirrell tries to attack Harry, Harry is able to kill Quirrell by just touching him. After Harry blacks out he finds Dumbledore is next to him telling Harry how he just saved Hogwarts from Voldemort. As he returns home for the summer Harry is remembered as a hero.

Harry Potter with his friends against Fluffy. This pictures stands for the theme friendship

Even through Harry had no idea if he cold defeat the person at the secret room that held The Sorcerer's Stone he still went. This shows the bravery Harry had.

Harry Potter and his friends against chess pieces. This also was in the theme of friendship because at the end Ron sacrifices himself let Harry continue

Harry talking to a snake he met at the zoo. This scene also shows the theme friendship which played a huge role in the book.

Theme

There were many themes in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone but one of the most important theme was friendship. Without his friends Harry might not have been able to get across some obstacles. Even Harry's rival Draco Malfoy has 2 friends who accompany Draco and help him. Throughout the story everyone has friends who help them and are there for them. One specific time when Harry's friends were there for him was when Harry went to go find the sorcerer's stone. Even though Hermione and Ron knew they could have gotten into big trouble for being in the restriction section of the school they still went. Another time when friendship came in was when Harry and his friends were going to the sorcerer's stone room Neville a friend of Harry tried to stop the Harry's trio from going because he didn't want them to get hurt. This shows how friendship shows one caring for each other.
