Sculpted by Mariano Baldemor Madriñan, which is now under the care of the Queseda family in Paete, Laguna . In 1883, he received a prestigous award from the King of Spain, Alfonso XII, during the international Exposition at Amsterdam. Madriñan is considered by historians as the first Filipino to have won an international award in sculpture.

Brief History

When Ferdinand Magellan reached the island of the Philippines on 1521, he convert the natives in the Philippine island to Christianity. The first to be baptized were Rajah Humabon and his wife, . The Santo Niño de Cebu was the statue given by the portugese explorer to Rajah and his wife as a baptisimal gift. this marked the beginning of Christianization in the Philippines and since then, the social life in Filipinos centered around Catholic festivities.

of the Catholic Church, such as the ten Commandments and the prayers,

Ave Maria, Credo, and Salve Regina.

Authored by Franciscan Friar Juan de Plasencia, it was the very first book printed in 1593.

Josef Luciano Dans is the artist of one of the most important mural entitled Langit, Lupa, at Impyerno. Created in 1850 and can be found at San Santiago Apostol church of Paete, Laguna to this day.

this painting has three levels. The highest level shows the Holy Trinity. A small angel is seen catching the blood of Christ, blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints in kneeling position, the Seven Blessed Sacramnets and a macabre dipiction of hell. Surrounding the Holy Trinity are angels playing music together with evangelists and bishops
