An example of a rural area today is an Amish Community. People in that community did not have technology, giant buildings, or any of the modern things we have today. People in the rural areas could not even imagine how people lived in the urban areas. If you are not exposed to modern society until you are older it is a huge culture shock. It took modern society years to evolve into how society is today. So it is way to much for someone to go from competently rural area to having to adjust to modern society.
