METHODS

Organizations such as the Mexican American youth Organization, or MAYO contributed to the movement.

Other methods that they used were leading demonstrations, participating in marches to bring attention to the disadvantages and positions of Mexican Americans, as well boycotts.

GOALS

STRUGGLES

The Chicano Youth movement was a movement to gain equal rights for the Latino americans.

the Latinos was discriminated for their race.

the word chicano was actually derogatory meaning "poorest of the poor."

THE GROUPS CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIETY TO MAKE IT MORE JUST AND EQUITABLE

The Chicano Youth Movement won two major cases, including the one with Mendez vs. the Westminster Supreme court prohibiting the segregation of whites and Latinos.

Another case also proved that the 14th amendment included the latinos and not only the whites.

They also gained rights for farmers.`
