These are 5 out of a family with 17 children that are affected by this disorder.
Scientists have determined the cause for this disorder is from Consanguinity ( shared blood).
The majority of all the cases have been in Turkey ( not the food) with large families of low class. They were all of families with shared blood.
Tan believed that the walking on the hands was because of reverse evolution but they later discovered it was mostly just because of coping.
It was shown that in most of the cases the person could stand upright but when asked to move they would fall over.
The scientist Uner Tan first discovered this genetic disorder in Turkey in 2005.
He said that the disorder was due to reverse evolution.
The condition severely damages the brain,
causing the person to walk on all fours, arm to leg ratio being close to those of the apes, curved finger during wrist walking.
They also suffer from not being able to communicate with words (only by grunts)
They have involuntary eye movement (eyes move back and forth faster than normal)
They are unaware of time and have no conscious experience
The chances of a person having this disorder is almost a billion : 1
They also suffer from slow mental processes. They do not meet the milestones for normal people their age.
Males are affected more than females
