Dog Timeline

2nd Step- Hard Woods

Conclusion

I think the second step to getting a dog is installing hardwoods. Since our dog will not be fully potty trained when we get it, hardwoods would be great if they were installed because pee stains would stay in the carpets forever. Also it would be a pain to have to get the dog out of the house while they are putting in hardwoods if they aren't already in.

All these steps lead up to getting a dog. Since you agreed to getting a dog, I hope your call to action is to start these steps and to follow up on your promise and commitment to getting a dog.

3rd Step- Dog Run

I think the third step to getting a dog is to look into a dog run for the lower section of our backyard. We don't have to get one of these, but it would work great. If we don't want to install one before we get a puppy we don't have to, we can just get quotes or we can actually get one.

5th Step- Puppy Proofing Our House

Before we get our dog we need to puppy proof our house so we are all ready. On this website we can find what is poisonous to dogs, how to get ready for a dog, what to ask to your breeder, how to bond with your dog and much more

1st Step-Decisions

4th Step-Doggy Door

First, since we are serious about a dog we need to make the hard decisions, Like what breed, what breeder, male/female, and possibly even picking out our puppy. We can visit breeders, research different breeds, and meet the parents of puppies.

Our fourth step should be doggy door. Again, if you want to wait until we already have a dog we can just get quotes. Or if we want to be totally ready we can get it installed before.
