CaCo3 + H3Po4 = Ca3(Po4)2 + H2Co3

My equation was not balanced so the balanced answer I got is,

3CaCo3 + 2H3Po4 = Ca3(Po4)2 + 3H2Co3

The equation wasn't balanced because when I wrote down each element the numbers on the reactants side didn't match the numbers on the product side.

Double Replacement

CaCo3 is Calcium Carbonate H3Po4 is Hydrogen Phosphate Ca3(Po4)2 is Calcium Phosphate H2Co3 is Dyhydrogen carbonate. The first one (CaCo3) is Calcium Carbonate because the compound is Calcium and Carbon. The second one (H3Po4) is Hydrogen Phosphate because it has Hydrogen and Phosphate. The third one (Ca3(Po4)2) is Calcium Phosphate because it has Calcium and Phosphate. The fourth one (H2Co3) is Dyhydrogen Carbonate because it has Hydrogen and Carbon.

The equation is a double replacement reaction because the equation starts out as CaCo3 + H3Po4 and it ends in Ca3(Po4)2 + H2Co3 it's double replacement because the equation and answer switched like it was originally CaCo3 and it turns into Ca3(Po4)2 it also started with H3Po4 and ends with H2Co3 so the equation switched.

CaCo3 the compound has Calcium, Carbon, and Oxygen and is considered ionic.

H3Po4 the compound has Hydrogen, Phosphate, and Oxygen and is considered Covalent

Ca3(Po4)2 the compound has Calcium, Phosphate, and Oxygen and is considered Ionic.

H2Co3 the compound has Hydrogen, Carbon, and Oxygen and is considered Covalent.
