Quote/Opinion

Quote

"We both looked at the bag with the epoxy and wondered how we were going to work out our sceme. The painter lady's car was no were in sight."

This quote is the turning point of the story it reviles how the boys have a change in heart and find out that the women painting over their wall was quite okay.

Opinion

I think that "The War of The Wall" was a good book. It had a good moral and it had a, lot of meaning to it. I like how the narrator was one of the main characters, and because of this the story was very descriptive

Theme/Literary Elements

Theme

The theme of "The War of The Wall" is you can't judge someone by the way they look or don't judge a book by it's cover. The two friends thought that the lady was doing something against them, they judged her on how she acted, and her religious belifes.

Literary Elements

I think one of the main literary elements in "The War of The Wall" is narration. The author made one of the main characters a narrator. This helps you understand what is happening in the story better, and the narrator is more trustworthy because they were really there

Conflicts/Resolution

The boys finally see that the mural is truly amazing. They look around and see that everyone else likes the painting even famous people.

The climax of the story is when the boys see that everyone enjoys the mural the mural turns out to be a beautiful mural and even Martin Luther Jr. and Harriet Tubman are even there enjoying it they decide that the painter lady is not o bad after all.

- Narrator

The narrator is the cousin of his friend Lou, in this story his ditermination is very important, and he is very mad at the painter lady throughout the story for painting over the wall which he thinks she does not deserve to do.

-Lou

Lou is the narrators cousin throughout the book he also has a deep hatred for the painter lady, he has to control his cousin from trying to kill her.

-Painter Lady

The painter lady in the story is very calm, and confident throughout the story about what she can do. She is Jewish and is very picky about what she eats, in the story she tries to ignore people when tey say negative things about her.

- Mama/Papa

In the story they are not annoyed at the painter lady for painting over the wall. Mama gets mad at the painter lady for her religious food instructions. They both get mad at the boys for trying to plot against the painter lady they think she is a ice lady in the end and tell them to lay off her.
