Negatives

  • Wind Turbines cost a lot to fit in
  • The wind can be unreliable sometimes
  • It threats wildlife especially birds and bats

How a Wind Turbine works?

Every Wind Turbine has a wind vane on top. The wind vane helps the blades to turn. The low speed shaft is given this name because it spins at the same speed or blades between 7 and 12 revolutions per minute to produce electricity it is necessary to increase the turning speed of the low speed shaft that is the mission of the gearbox which raises the speed

Positives!

  • No smoke comes out
  • Wind Energy does pollute air or water
  • It gives jobs to people

Uses of a Wind Turbine!

What is a Wind Turbine?

Wind Turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks. Such as one Wind Turbine could power up to 500 homes.

A Wind Turbine is a device that converts the winds kinetic energy into electrical power. Wind Turbines are manufactured in a wide range of vertical and horizontal axis types.

History of a Wind Turbine!

Wind energy propelled boats along the Nile River as early as 5000 B.C. By 200 B.C, simple windmills in China were pumping water, while vertical axis windmills with woven reed sails were grinding grain in Persia and the Middle East.
